The Puzzle of The Three Peaks

Puzzle of the three peaks

One day, three adventurous friends with vivid imaginations found a wax-sealed parchment in their attic.
The map showed the location of a treasure, and also diplayed the following riddle:

To find the gold that you seek,
You must solve the puzzle of the three peaks.
One is hidden in the land of dreams,
Where a princess sleeps and a unicorn gleams.
One is guarded by a king and his knight,
Who will test your courage and your might.
One is locked by a jester and his magic,
Who will make you laugh with his tricks.

Amazed and excited, Sonic, Pikachu and Theo decided to follow the map and find the treasure.
They packed their bags to embark on an adventure.
They also took their dog, Spot, who was their loyal companion.

They boarded a plane and flew to the first destination: a remote island in the Pacific Ocean. There, they found a cave that led to a hidden valley.
The valley was full of flowers and trees and animals.
It was like a fairy tale.
In the middle of the valley, there was a castle with a tall tower.
The trio climbed the tower and found a door with a sign that said:
"Do not disturb. Sleeping beauty inside."

They opened the door and saw a beautiful princess lying on a bed.
She was wearing a long dress and a crown.
She looked peaceful and serene.
The companions wondered if she was the princess from the story of Sleeping Beauty.
They also noticed that there was a unicorn standing next to her bed.
The unicorn had a horn that sparkled like a rainbow.

The unicorn looked at the three buddies and said:
"Hello, brave adventurers.
You have found the first peak of the puzzle.
To claim your prize, you must wake the princess with true love's kiss."

The threesome was surprised that the unicorn could talk.
They also wondered who could kiss the princess.
They looked at each other and shrugged.

"Maybe we should try," one of them said.

They took turns kissing the princess on the cheek, but nothing happened.
The unicorn shook his head.

"Sorry, but none of you are her true love.
You must find someone who loves her more than anything in the world."

The three pals thought hard.
Who could love the princess more than anything in the world?
Then they had an idea.

"What about Spot?" one of them said.

They called their dog, who ran up to them wagging his tail.
They lifted him up and let him lick the princess on the face.
The princess opened her eyes and smiled.

"Spot!" she exclaimed. "You're here! You're my true love!"

The three chums were shocked.
How could Spot be her true love?
The unicorn explained.

"Spot is not just any dog.
He is actually Prince Spot, the son of King Spot and Queen Spot, who ruled this island long ago. He was cursed by an evil witch who turned him into a dog and made him forget his past.
He wandered around the world until he met you, his new family.
He loves you very much, but he also loves the princess, who is his childhood friend and betrothed."

Theo, Sonic and Pikachu were amazed by this story.
They hugged Spot and congratulated him on breaking the curse.

"Thank you for waking me up," the princess said to them.
"You have passed the first test of the puzzle.
Here is your reward."

She gave them a golden key that had a peak-shaped pendant.

"This key will open one of the three chests that contain a treasure," she said.
"You must find the other two keys to open all of them."

The three friends thanked her and said goodbye to her and Spot, who decided to stay with her in the valley.

They left the island and flew to the second destination: a mountain in Europe.
There, they found a castle that belonged to a king and his knight.

The king welcomed them warmly and invited them to stay for dinner.
He told them that he knew about their quest and that he had one of the keys they needed.

"But before I give it to you," he said, "you must prove yourselves worthy by passing my challenge."

"What is it?" Theo asked.

"You must defeat my knight in combat," he said.

The three chums looked at each other nervously.
They saw that the knight was wearing armor and holding a sword.
He looked strong and fierce.

"Don't worry," he said with a smile.
"I won't hurt you. It's just a friendly duel.
The first one to touch the other with their sword wins."

The three amigos agreed to the challenge.
They chose one of them to represent them.
Theo put on a helmet and a shield and took a wooden sword.
He faced the knight and saluted him.

"Ready?" the knight asked.
"Ready," Theo said.

They began to fight.
The knight was fast and skilled, but the child was clever and agile.
He dodged and parried the knight's attacks, and waited for an opening.
He saw one when the knight swung his sword too wide.
He lunged forward and tapped the knight on the chest.

"I got you!" he said.

The knight looked down and nodded.

"You did," he said. "Well done, young warrior.
You have beaten me fair and square."

He lowered his sword and hugged the child.

"You have passed the second test of the puzzle," he said. "Here is your reward."

He gave him another golden key that had a peak-shaped pendant.

"This key will open another one of the three chests that contain the treasure," he said.
"You must find the last key to open all of them."

The three companions thanked him and said goodbye to him and the king, who wished them luck on their quest.

They left the mountain and flew to the third destination: a city in Asia.
There, they found a circus that was full of clowns and acrobats and animals.
They saw a sign that said: "Come see the amazing jester and his magic show!"

They entered the circus tent and saw a crowd of people laughing and cheering.
They saw a man dressed in colorful clothes and a funny hat.
He was holding a wand and a hat.
He was the jester.

"Hello, hello, hello!" he said with a loud voice.
"Welcome to my show!
I'm here to amaze you with my magic and make you laugh with my jokes!
But first, I need some volunteers from the audience.
Who wants to join me on stage?"

The three friends raised their hands eagerly.
They wanted to see his magic up close.

"Excellent!" he said. "You three, come on up!"

They ran to the stage and joined the jester.

"Hello, hello, hello!" he said again.
"What are your names?"
"Theo, Sonic, Pikachu" they replied.
"Nice to meet you," he said.
"Now, are you ready for some magic?"
"Yes!" they said.
"Good," he said. "But before I show you my magic, you must show me yours."
"What do you mean?" one of them asked.
"I mean that you must solve my riddle," he said.

He showed them his hat and his wand.

"In this hat, there is nothing," he said.
"But with this wand, I can make anything appear.
Anything at all.
You just have to say what you want, and it will come out of the hat."

He demonstrated by saying: "I want a rabbit!"
He waved his wand over the hat and pulled out a white rabbit.
"Ta-da!" he said.

The crowd clapped and cheered.

"Now it's your turn," he said to the three friends.
"You must say a word that rhymes with "hat" and is an insect.
If you can do that, I'll give you what you want.
But if you can't, I'll give you something else instead."

He looked at them with a mischievous grin.

"Are you ready?" he asked.
"Yes!" they said.
"OK, then," he said. "Let's start with you."

He pointed at one of the three companions.

"What do you want from the hat?" he asked.
Sonic thought for a moment and then said:
"I want a gnat!"

He waved his wand over the hat and pulled out a small gnat.
"Ta-da!" he said.

The crowd gasped and cheered.

"Wow, that's cool!" Sonic said.

The jester held the gnat and stared at it.

"You like gnats?" the jester asked.
"No, they're pesky and miniature," Sonic said.

"Correct" the jester said.
"You have solved my riddle correctly. Here is your reward."
He gave him a small box that had a peak-shaped pendant.

"This box contains the last key that will open the final chest that contains the treasure," he said.
"You have completed the puzzle of the three peaks."

Sonic thanked him and opened the box.
He saw a golden key that matched the other two keys he had received before.

He showed it to his friends, who were happy for him.

They also solved the jester's riddle correctly by saying things that rhymed with "hat", such as cat, rat, mat and gnat.
With the third key in hand, they thanked the jester for his magic show.

Unfortunately they still had not found the treasure.
