Math Diagnostic Test

The following diagnostic tests are designed for students ages 10–13 to help identify learning gaps and strengths.

11 years old: 50–55%
12 years old: 55–65%

Age 10 → Stanine 3 (below 23%)
Age 11 → Stanine 4 (below 34%)
Age 12 → Stanine 5 (below 45%)
Age 13 → Stanine 6 (below 56%)

🔴 Stanines 1–3: Significant gaps — targeted intervention needed
🟠 Stanine 4: Below expected — skill reinforcement recommended

🟢 Stanine 6: Above level — light enrichment beneficial
🟢🟢 Stanines 7–9: Strong performance — enrichment/extension work

Testing Procedure

Each test lasts a maximum of 40 minutes. Students should have paper and pencil ready. After completion, calculate the percentage score and match it to the stanine table above.

Follow-Up

Print completed tests and focus instruction on skill gaps. Targeted practice activities can significantly improve student performance.
