Choral
Reading: The Marathon of Hope
A
rhythmic group poem for 4 reading parts.
Each stanza represents a different stage of Terry’s journey. PART 1 He laced one shoe, the other was gone, A leg replaced, but hope lived on. He ran for those who couldn’t try, With every step, he reached the sky. PART 2 From east to west, the road was long, But Terry’s heart beat brave and strong. He faced the pain, the wind, the rain, Yet never once did he complain. PART 3 A nation watched, inspired and moved, His courage clear, his mission proved. He didn’t run for fame or gold, But for a cure, a dream he’d hold. PART 4 Though illness stopped his final mile, His story runs through every child. We walk, we run, we carry on— The Marathon of Hope lives on. Video - What is choral reading?
