Skip The Stream

Draw two chalklines on the floor so that the distance between them narrows from 1 metre (3') at the beginning to about 15 centimetres (6") at the end.
These lines represent a stream in which you place, face down, flashcards containing new words.

Have the children line up at the narrow end.

Each student, in turn, selects a card, reads it and jumps to the other side.

Words read incorrectly go back in the stream.

Children progress, reading and jumping at specified spots until the space is cleared of words and of participants.
