Valentine

Each student brings in a favorite family recipe.
Read them all aloud with their standard measurements.
Reproduce metric equivalency charts and give a copy to each student to use as a reference while converting the standard measurements in his or her family recipe to metric tables.
Remind the children that though degrees Celsius should be noted in the conversions, the Fahrenheit temperatures must be used in unconverted ovens.

To compile the cookbook, ask the children to type two of the converted recipes per page.
The students then decorate them with culinary sketches before printing them.
Each student receives a complete set.
He or she then folds each page in half, widthwise, and designs personolised covers.
The recipes, conversion sheets and covers are secured with brass fasteners.

Happy Valentine's Day!
